School workplace excursion program
School workplace excursion program
The purpose of the program is to reduce career anxiety, and gender, cultural and socio-economic barriers to career choice.
Our perspective on career options is limited by what we know or see. By showcasing your workplace to students and sharing individual career stories, you broaden their field-of-vision as they seek out information to form their career pathways.
For students, face-to-face is the most authentic engagement and has the most impact.
Did you know what you wanted to 'be' when you grew up? Chances are, your career choices were limited by your gender, cultural or socio-economic background... this cycle continues, and current school students are riddled with career anxiety, facing the same dilemmas you did, plus throw in the threat of machines taking jobs, social media pressures - and students don't know where to turn.
This is where you and your workplace can break the cycle and provide much needed clarity for the students of today. In a 1.5 hour excursion, students will tour your workplace and hear from employees on their journey to where they are today... the more authentic the better.
Come along and join the movement by unlocking futures, one workplace at a time.
